The Financial Supervisory Service Of Korea Announced The Huge Loss Of The National Pension After BTS’s Off-Season

One word of BTS that can affect the whole economy is what the media describes the group in these days. Even, according to the latest announcement of the Financial Supervisory Service, just one word from BTS Hiatus costs the national pension 140 billion won.

This shows how big the influence of BTS in relation to national finance is!

Specifically, the Financial Supervisory Service of Korea yesterday announced the valuation of HYBE shares of the National Pension Service droped at 397,244.74 billion KRW at the time the “BTS hiatus” news broke. Specifically, it was affected right after many people spread the word in the video ‘Real Bangtan Dinner’.

Previously, the National Pension Service’s HYBE stock valuation was 528,765 billion KRW. They are one of the 3 largest stakeholders of HYBE when holding 6.62 % shares (2.73 million , 412 shares). The national pension is third after only Chairman Bang Si-hyuk (31.80%) and Netmarble (18.21%) – the two largest shareholders.

National Pension Service suffered a loss of about 140 billion KRW after just one word of BTS was misunderstood. This is not a new thing because right after this news was spread, HYBE’s market capitalization evaporated by about 2 trillion KRW.

These losses are not only directed towards major shareholders like the National Pension Service. By the end of the first quarter of this year, 156,685 small and medium shareholders of HYBE will certainly suffer significant losses.

Following this story, HYBE was criticized for not taking any official position on the matter nor informing stakeholders in advance. Many people believe that HYBE lacks a sense of responsibility and credibility for investors.

Overall, BTS currently accounts for more than 70% of HYBE’s revenue, so each BTS move can have a massive knock-on effect across many economic classes. So we can see how in the past 10 years, BTS has created a huge economic power for the capitalist system!
